I was searching hard for the truth one night,
Opened up the Word and saw the light.
Jesus said in red, bold and true—
Not a preacher’s thought, but a Word from You!

“Most assuredly, I say to you,
Unless one is born of water and the Spirit,
He cannot enter the kingdom of God.”
(John 3:5)

Born of water and Spirit, I’m brand new!
Buried in the water like He told me to.
He said “He who believes and is baptized
Will be saved!” (Mark 16:16, truth never dies!)

The Savior gave the final call:
“Go therefore and make disciples—
Baptizing them in the name above all!”

“In the name of the Father and of the Son
And of the Holy Spirit.”

Even Jesus walked into the stream,
John tried to stop Him, but He said this thing:
“Permit it to be so now,
For thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.”
(Matthew 3:15 – That’s our witness!)
